Privacy
On this page, you can read how we at PBL deal with the personal data received through the website. For instance, we register personal data if you order a publication. Your personal details are, of course, treated with care in a secured system. The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency complies in this way with current privacy legislation.
How does the CLO use your personal data?
In the places where you personal data are processed, it is stated exactly which data may be used for what purposes. Your personal details will only be used for the purpose that you have indicated. This means that if, for example, you fill in your name in the contact form, this data will not be used to send you other informations or newsletters.
For all processing of personal details, the only data that will be used are those that you yourself have specifically indicated. Personal details will not be retained any longer than is necessary to complete the purpose for which the data have been collected.
What is the Dutch Data Protection Act?
In processing personal data we follow the Dutch Data Protection Act(Wbp in Dutch). This Act helps to protect citizens’ privacy. The Wbp applies, in particular, to data that is processed through government websites. This means that personal details that are collected, saved and used through the Internet, or made available in any other form, or linked to each other and protected, are also covered by this legislation. In accordance with this Act, personal details may only be processed if this is specifically communicated, and if the purpose for which the data will be kept is given.
What are personal data/details?
Personal data/details are understood as being data that pertain to a ‘specific, identified or identifiable natural person’. That means that the name of the person to whom the data apply is known, and that the person can be identified from these data. An example of a personal detail is a name or a home address. E-mail addresses can also be used as personal data.
